Mother Mine 04:11
Have you heard about it? Have you seen the signs? Ain't no doubt about it These are desperate times This concerns your mother By the name of Earth It ain't getting no better For what that's worth My my my my Mother Mine Petroleum seaside Bather beware Whatever you decide Don't you ever go in there This air that we breathe now You can cut with a knife You disrespect your mother And you pay with your life My my my my Mother Mine This is my homeland My homeland My own My my my my Mother Mine words by Dave Van Norden music by Dave Van Norden and Martin Blasick

Find Me 03:12
I’m lost deep in the forest I’m swept under the sea I’m falling into thin air I need someone like you to need someone like me Find me, c’mon baby I’ve been waiting forever Find me, I’m ready right now I’m a worthy endeavor So find a way I’ll endure the weather Find me, I know that you can Never give up, never give up Never give up on me I’ve got wings but I’m not in the open I’m in a cage but I don’t know why I’m sorry if I bring you down I need you to come down to me and show me the sky Find me, c’mon baby I’ve been waiting forever Find me, I’m ready right now I’m a worthy endeavor So find a way I’ll endure the weather Find me, I know that you can Never give up, never give up, never give up Never give up, never give up, never give up Never give up, never give up Never give up on me © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

All the ways I’ve abused myself never asking why But in some ways it’s kind of funny, the pain I feel inside I look at you and I see myself running from it all But nobody sees what the future brings – the fate that does befall Climbing up that mountain just to get to the other side If I knew what to do when I get to that view I’d be headed for the light That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl The girl that I want If I go to the ends of the earth does it matter where I’ve been If I’m too blind or I never find the answers in the wind In the midst of a fog hidden by another cloudy day There’s a part of me that still believes that love will find a way That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl The girl that I want That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl The girl that I need Dry as the wind in the desert That evaporates my tears Like the faintest star in the heavens My soul has disappeared I’m on empty I’m going full speed I’m in a hurry My veins cannot bleed Mindless of the future onward I will forge Into parts unknown with a heart of stone don’t know what I’m looking for That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl The girl that I want That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl That’s the kind of girl The girl that I need © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

I found love but nobody likes her In fact they despise her and call her names Mother says she’s a trollop And that she she should wallop my behind My baby don’t drive the finest car My baby don’t wear the finest clothes My baby don’t drink the finest wine But that’s alright by me That’s alright by me Isn’t she? Tell me is it outrageous It isn’t contagious but all the same All this has increased my drinking And got me to thinking the doggone girl is mine My baby don’t drive the finest car My baby don’t wear the finest clothes My baby don’t drink the finest wine But that’s alright by me That’s alright by me Isn’t she? Got such a long way to go There’s so much to know Got such a long way to go Don’t you know © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

Pop Star 03:39
I've been to L.A. Put my feet in the sea The sand slipped between my toes Like someone else's dream Time is all there is That's what you used to say I guess I had to get away To see the light of day Everyone's a pop star Everyone knows best Can you see the stars Across the universe That's how far I feel from you I love the way it hurts Everyone's a pop star Everyone knows best I don't know what's right That's been your only job Now that I'm so far away A face in the mob © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI © 2010 Robert Oriol Black Page Music

Give Me Love 03:38
The cold wind bites into my skin In every place that you’ve been I’m building a mountain out of my mistakes I’m running on credit for whatever it takes Give me love Give me hope Give me dreams to soothe my soul Give me love A headlight trance and I’m in the way Still I taste the words you say I’m caught in the fire for the very last time I turning away from the things I’ve left behind Give me love Give me hope Give me dreams to soothe my soul Give me love Love goes round and round and round Til the earth has spun on down I would trade my heart For a place to start For a tiny part of you Give me love © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

I thought about the things you said You really know how to stretch my head I surprise myself sometimes With all of the things in my mind I’ve come to far to let myself stumble over this I’ll reach the stars if I Believe I can’t miss Make the right wish Live in your kiss Oh, yeah I tried a million other ways I got lost inside the games I played I still try the stupid things You’re always there in my dreams I’ve come to far to let myself stumble over this I’ll reach the stars if I Believe I can’t miss Make the right wish Live in your kiss Oh, yeah You earned my trust When my faith was down I’ll always be there To stand my ground © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

I feel like a kid in a candy store Everything I see only makes me want more How can I decide I can’t make up my mind It all looks so fine I think I’m going blind This could take some time Cause I can’t make up my mind A moment like this doesn’t come around every day And I can’t seem to find a single word to say How can I decide I’m swept up by the tide Right before my eyes I’ve lost my inner guide This could take some time Cause I can’t make up my mind The time to make magic is when You’re standing on the stage If the sun in shining high in the sky It’s time to make hay © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

My eyes are wet; my heart is dry I cannot find a reason why The empty walls look at me I only ask for them to leave me be After the flame After the flame I’m hiding from the phone when it rings Cause I don’t wanna know the message it brings I find myself so far away There’s only smoke after the flame After the flame= After the flame Always, forever you’re in me Always, forever you’re in me Always, forever you’re in me Always, forever © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

She wore X-ray glasses Laughing at the sun Underneath her shoulders A phaser set to stun She filled me with her nonsense One day at a time Every tender morsel Ate away my mind In spite of her strange planet She brings me joy A mosaic in a sea of blandness She brings me joy She killed me with a whisper Pierced me with her smile Froze me with her passion And let me stay a while In spite of her strange planet She brings me joy A mosaic in a sea of blandness She brings me joy She can bring me happiness She opens up my doors She sees into my secret heart She knows me to the core In spite of her strange planet She can bring me joy A mosaic in a world of blandness She can bring me joy She can bring me joy She can bring me joy © 2010 Martin Blasick Lavish Music BMI

about

From the writer of Lindsey Lohan's "Don't Move On" comes the arrival, at long last, of his debut solo album. A lifelong band guy, Martin released one of the very first enhanced CDs as the lead singer and songwriter of Velvet in 1995. His next band, indie power pop auteurs Statica released their self titled CD in 2004.

A singer/songwriter at heart, Martin steps into the spotlight with a heightened sense of community and charity. He says "Everything in the universe spins around in circles around something else. And we must do that, too, to be in balance. It means giving back even as you are being given something."

Martin Blasick is a composer, producer, songwriter and performer of music for film and TV. Originally hooked on the 70's prog rock of Yes and King Crimson, it was the adventurous, boundary-crossing spirit of the times that inspired him to a life in music. Deep study at the University Of North Texas in jazz improvisation, classical composition and a love for pop music have provided a bottomless fountain of inspiration from which to drink the waters of passion and creation.

Since his first music cue in Earth Girls Are Easy, Martin has provided scores, songs, cues, arrangements and productions for a stylistically diverse array of shows. Traditional music includes operatic classics for The 4th Tenor and big band jazz for the TV series Army Wives. Pop music includes Lindsey Lohan singing Martin's song "Don't Move On" onscreen in Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen" and producing "Miracles Happen" for the certified gold soundtrack album for Princess Diaries 2.

Martin has produced celebrity vocal tracks for Brendan Fraser, Mary Steenburgen, Denise Richards, Eddie Griffin, Rodney Dangerfield, Denis Leary, Anne Hathaway, Heather Graham and more. His music appears in Oceans 12 & 13, The Matador, Kyle XY, Bedazzled, Ugly Betty, Lost, The Reaper, Undercover Brother, Kinsey, Samantha Who and many more.

An early adopter of digital recording, Martin has been producing and composing music with ProTools since it's debut in 1991. To this day his passion for musical exploration is a daily quest that crosses through nearly any style of music. Particular loves are electronica, English composer Vaughan Williams and listening to KCRW. Martin is endorsed by Samick's Greg Bennett guitars.

Martin performs as a singer-songwriter and is currently recording his debut CD as a solo artist. Additional endeavors including writing screenplays and movie directing.
